Summer Sunflowers

Summer Sunflowers
They grow so fast...
In winter when the fields are white,
I sing this song for your delight -

In spring, when woods are getting green,
I'll try and tell you what I mean.

In summer, when the days are long,
Perhaps you'll understand the song;

In autumn, when the leaves are brown,
Take pen and ink and write it down.

The Kids are Making a Mess

There is a reason that February was dry on posts. Actually two reasons: 1) Caleb is obsessed with the computer mouse and so if I want to work up here it's got to be when he is asleep or otherwise occupied downstairs; and 2) I lost my camera for a time. In fact, I thought it was gone for good. I even called the vacuum salespeople who had been by and told them I suspected they stole it. But it was lost behind the computer thanks to Caleb's work with the mouse. Yes, I did call and apologize to the salespeople. Embarassing.

Like I said, Caleb's obsessed with the mouse.

Jayne LOVES when I start crocheting. She likes the afghan I'm making too but the strings of yarn are just too much fun.

Caleb's eating is getting so much better. He's started to try spoon-feeding himself and he loves playing with the yogurt. This particular day he actually ate half of the cracker. That was a first and so exciting. But this process of teaching him to self-feed is VERY messy. On Friday Nate asked me if I'd put some sort of product in Caleb's hair (which was actually brushed at the time.) My initial response was no until I remembered, "Oh yeah, jam."

Jayne is a happy girl. Always smiling. She likes all sorts of toys and gets all over the room to explore and see what's out to play with. Her favorite toys by far are Evander's. Her favorite of Evander's toys is his red fire truck. That's where she is headed to in this picture.
